MIKISHIN GET OUT OF THE THINGS I LIKE.
Now, with that out of the way…
Gintarou (CV: Shinichirou Miki) is a fox herald at an Inari temple. His partner, Kinjirou (CV: Kazuhiko Inoue) left the temple for unknown reasons and Gintarou has since been alone. However, with a girl like Makoto Saeki (CV: Hisako Kanemoto) with the Sight to see the herald, he isn’t really alone, and as Satoru Kamio (CV: Kenshou Ono) moves in at the temple together with a fox spirit, Haru (CV: Ayumi Fujimura), from a different temple, it even gets more rowdy. But somehow everything works out anyway.
This is a slice-of-life series with some supernatural additions (the heralds). It’s pretty laid-back and kind of teaches you a bit about Shinto. Because I like stuff like that, I really enjoyed the ride, so to say. But if you don’t like that type of anime (Natsume Yuujinchou is similar to it in pace and the like), you will probably find it terribly boring. I really like how it ended up with a summer cleansing in the middle of the winter. Really makes me miss those early summer days when the sun isn’t too hot but it’s not so cold you have to wear something long-sleeved all the time.
There are some really good voice actors in it too, such as Tomokazu Seki, Tomokazu Sugita and Hiroyuki Yoshino who all have supporting roles, and for those who love Shinichirou Miki (MikiShin), he has one of the main roles. I’m also glad to see Ayumi Fujimura in it. I don’t like many female voice actors, but she’s one of the few.
To me, MikiShin will always be a minus. I admit he’s good, I just don’t like his voice. He pisses me off. Like, so bad.
