Miss Monochrome (CV: Yui Horie) is an android who was a super idol in the past. But as aliens attacked the earth and killed most of the human population. Miss Monochrome’s idol rival died with the last words that they would meet again and Miss Monochrome waited for that day, through the re-population of the earth.
Miss Monochrome is an original character by the voice actor Yui Horie, which has voiced Tooru Honda (Fruits Basket), Millfiore Firianno Biscotti (Dog Days), Ayu Tsukimiya (Kanon), Naru Narusegawa (Love Hina), Mayura Daidouji (Matantei Loki Ragnarok), Eri Sawachika (School Rumble) and Yuuki Cross (Vampire Knight) just to name a few. The character was used during a concert and her setting is that she wants to be a super idol and loves monochrome style and dislike colour. Naturally, Yui Horie is voicing her own character.
The episodes are rather short – 4 minutes – and the 13 episodes together become a total of 52 minutes of entertainment (that is, if you want to listen to the 1 minute theme, Poker Face, 13 times). It’s funny and always have an easy to understand punchline and one of the episodes features Miss Monochrome’s past before we meet her and her care-taker, Mana-chan, steals Miss Monochrome’s 19.3 billion yen (that’s a lot of money to steal).
If you don’t have much time to spare, taking 4 minutes to see an episode of this show isn’t a bad option. In my opinion (and I only give my personal opinion here, what else is new?) this show is one of the better shows with this kind of short episode. Because it’s funny.
