Batch #3

Batch posts are posts with shows I drop along the way and sometimes films or OVAs I don’t feel I can give a proper post too.

28748lHeart no Kuni no Alice

I… can’t… even… I don’t know. What did I watch? I don’t know. This film is an adaptation of the game made by QuinRose with the same name, which is the first game in the Alice series. It’s based on Alice in Wonderland (no kidding?) and I’ve played a little bit of it several years ago when I still wasn’t very fluent in Japanese. But this was too confusing. It completely messed me up and I kept looking at the clock. Yuck.

Also… WHY DOES RIE KUGIMIYA VOICE ALICE?! I don’t get it.

58141lNobunagun

Historical people such as Jack the Ripper, Isaac Newton and Gandhi have been reincarnated in people called E-gene holders, who fight against aliens that evolve from the seas and are trying to get onto land. During an incident in Taiwan, the girl Shio Ogura (CV: Shiori Mutou) awakens as Nobunaga Oda (CV: Nobuo Tobita) to protect hew new friend.

Something like that?

As many other shows in the winter season 2013/14, this is neither good nor bad. The biggest problem with this show is that it basically has a twin running at the same time – Nobunaga the Fool. This show is like sci-fi with aliens and shit and a girl with a hell of a gun. I basically dropped it because I’m watching too much and most of it is kind of… neither good nor bad.

57803lNobunaga the Fool

The world is split in two world – the west planet and the east planet. Jeanne Kaguya d’Arc (CV: Youko Hikasa) from the western planet hears a voice that guides her to the eastern planet to search for the Saviour King. She meets with Nobunaga Oda (CV: Mamoru Miyano) who might be the one she searches for.

This is the second Nobunaga show going on right now. This is more of an interstellar fantasy mecha, kind of? Both this and Nobunagun mixes in people from different times and places and I don’t even know what I’m watching. This being a mecha show I’m surprised I even endured as much as I did. I don’t do well with mecha, but I think I’ve mentioned that already. It seemed kind of interesting at first, but nah…

56939lToaru Hikuushi e no Koi Uta

The Wind Revolution. The king and queen of the Ballesteros Empire are removed from power and killed. Left is the crown prince Karl la Hire, but he is said to have died shortly after his mother was taken to her death.

Years later, Kal-el Albus (CV: Natsuki Hanae) together with his sister Ariel (CV: Ayana Taketatsu) are going to study piloting at a flying island (all I can think of is Laputa when I see the island). At the island Kal-el meets Claire Cruz (CV: Aoi Yuuki), a noble in his piloting class. Together they discover the skies and although the other nobles doesn’t particularly like that Claire is with the commoners, they can’t do much about it. But among everything happening to these young pilots, a rumour that Karl la Hire is alive and has come to the island to take revenge on Nina Viento, the leader of the Wind Revolution.

This was good to begin with. Then it got a bit bad, then worse and then I just gave up. That’s all I have to say about this. I will prolly try the novel series out eventually, since you shouldn’t judge the novels based on the anime. Right?
