Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic

42773lAlibaba Saluja (CV: Yuuki Kaji), a runaway prince, wants to conquer a dungeon, and when he meets a small boy named Aladdin (CV: Kaori Ishihara) who is a magi. Together they go to conquer a local magi and with the money Alibaba gets he buys all the slaves in the town free. He then starts a journey hoping to once again meet with Aladdin who went missing after they conquered the dungeon.

Magi is a fantasy anime with a lot of familiar names, such as Alibaba and Aladdin which both are names from stories. It’s about fighting for what you believe and keeping the world right and just. You see it from two ways – Aladdin treats everyone the same and doesn’t know much about the world and Alibaba has his beliefs of what is right and wrong. This means that they sometimes do things differently but they come together in the end. There is also the former slave Morgiana (CV: Haruka Tomatsu) who has a third way of seeing things that eventually joins the travels with Aladdin and Alibaba.

I liked it for several reasons. It uses human psychology in a very good way and it’s a well done fantasy show. The characters are different from each other and I really fell in love with Alibaba’s character. And the music was really good too.
