Batch #4

Batch posts a compilation of a few shows I’ve dropped, films, OVAs and Specials that don’t need their own posts.

58145lWizard Barrister: Benmashi Cecil
Cecil Sudou (CV: Rui Tanabe) is the youngest Wizard Barrister in history. She is together with the other at her agency to be attorney’s for fellow wizards. She says it’s to help people, but in fact she wants to save her own mother who is in jail for illegal use of magic.

It seemed pretty okay, but after a while it got a bit confusing and more than anything – boring. I just gave up. (lol)

Neppuu Kairiku Bushi Road

Neppu_Kairiku_Bushi_Road_Key_VisualAme (CV: Megumi Han) is the princess of Ise. In a world where a poison called Shinobi exists, her mother most of her country was destroyed. But she is a survivor and she was entrusted a key to a holy weapon called the Giga Road and she is on a quest to find this weapon and erase all the shinobi from the earth. On her quest she meets the yagyuu – a living weapon – named Suou (CV: KENN).

The premise, idea, concept, was good. The film, not so much. This film is part of a project with the same name as the film and there is comics of it, which might or might not explain more, but there were a bunch of holes in this. I mean, in the 91 minutes of this film, they managed to cram in (be warned: until the end of the paragraph, it’s spoiling pretty much the entire film!!) saving a child from being sacrificed, Ame meeting Suou, Suou knowing exactly where the heck they are supposed to go, Ame almost dying in a sand storm, Ame and co. being taking to some place, Ame getting the key stolen, some guy wanting Ame to get the weapon while another doesn’t want her to reach it, Suou saving Ame from being killed, someone from Ame’s past arriving with a bunch shinobi, Ame heading to the holy weapon, Ame reaching the holy weapon after a soldier from her homeland is killed, Ame finding weapon, weapon which is a huge mecha is not responding, bad guy catches up, info dump by bad guy who I still don’t know exactly how he’s connected with Ame but I’m assuming teacher, guy who didn’t want Ame to find the weapon arrives to save the day, bad guy pretty much ignores it, explosion, something happen and Suou comes for Ame but Giga Road is trying to protect Ame, Suou and Ame get literally connected and giant mecha starts raging, Ame-Suou kills bad guy, an ending song that made me think of tokusatsu drama or Japanese superhero shows, Ame has died, Suou cries. Batch #3

Batch posts are posts with shows I drop along the way and sometimes films or OVAs I don’t feel I can give a proper post too.

28748lHeart no Kuni no Alice

I… can’t… even… I don’t know. What did I watch? I don’t know. This film is an adaptation of the game made by QuinRose with the same name, which is the first game in the Alice series. It’s based on Alice in Wonderland (no kidding?) and I’ve played a little bit of it several years ago when I still wasn’t very fluent in Japanese. But this was too confusing. It completely messed me up and I kept looking at the clock. Yuck.

Batch #2

Batch posts are posts with early impressions and thoughts of shows I don’t finish.

56415lOnee-chan ga Kita

Tomoya‘s (CV: Aimi Terakawa) father re-married and Tomoya got an older sister, Ichika (CV: Juri Nagatsuma). It would had been fine, but she’s really weirdly obsessed with her younger brother.

I didn’t really have a reason to drop this show, because the winter 2013/2014 season is full of mediocrity. I guess I dropped it so I could watch stuff I liked better r felt could go somewhere, so while it wasn’t horribly bad, it wasn’t good either.

Batch #1

Batch posts are (mostly) early impressions on shows I dropped along the way over the season. Most shows which I stop watching are dropped within the 3 first episodes or I watch through it, but there are times I drop them further in (usually longer shows). The following four are all from this ongoing winter season.

56589lSaikin, Imouto no Yousu ga Chotto Okashiin da ga.

Or ImoCho for short. In English it’s “Recently, my little sister has been a bit weird” (ignore the fact I just translated the title as is, which isn’t what I’ve actually the English title, as far as I know).

These little sister light novels are going to kill me. I thought that after torturing myself through 12 episodes and a recap of Disgusting Wifebeaters (aka Diabolik Lovers) I could watch anything. I was wrong and ImoCho slapped that in my face only days after I thought I could watch anything. Life is cruel.

Well, ImoCho seemed to be liked by my boyfriend after a single episode (I didn’t check his rating on it on MAL. Nope.) but as I’m not interested in a combination of following ingredients:
Step-siblings (older male, younger female) alone in a house (well, will be – parents are leaving for India)
Chasity-belt
Ghost masturbating while possessing girl
And more stuff like as above. Yeah, I admit I couldn’t write more without being at loss of words.

I guess the first episode could basically be described as tasteless soft porn. I’m not into that. I’ll take on those vampires any day, as long as I don’t have to watch ImoCho. Continue reading
