The cast in Beyond the Horizon is large. Because of that, I want to make sure to include everyone who’s mentioned, even if it’s just to make sure you know it’s one of Tomo’s classmates.

As such, this list will try to be as complete as possible with characters who appeared in Year 1. If you feel any character is missing, you can comment or contact me on social media.

There will be some spoilers, so please keep that in mind when looking through this list. I’m trying not to write anything not revealed by the end of the second term.

Momoi Tomoki

A very good student and many would say he seems quite ideal as one, even if he’s not the top student. He crumbles easily under pressure and tries hard to fit into the roles he’s given.

One of his guilty pleasures is magical girl shows. He likes rabbits and dogs, and his favourite colour is mint green. He keeps several pairs of glasses, wearing what he feels like any given day when he’s not using lenses.

Seki Sawa

Tomo’s mother. Remarried. She is quite scatterbrained but shows concern for Tomo. She cares quite a lot.

Momoi Shouji

Marital status: Divorced
Occupation: Travelling a lot

Tomo’s father. He and Tomo share eye colour but might not look a lot like each other otherwise. He visits from time to time and is very supportive of his children, but not very physically present. There was quite an age gap between him and Sawa. They divorced on good terms and with equal understanding.

He has a penchant for using alternate readings of names. For reasons, he uses an alternate reading for his own name.

Seki Chiyo

Orekko with a more masculine personality. She is in a theatre group after school in addition to the drama club. She cut her hair and wears a boy uniform, often blending in with the guys.

She’s childhood friends with both Tomo and Kenta and is Tomo’s neighbour.

Effortlessly social and friendly, he makes friends with people very easily. Together with Tatsumi, he seems to be the tacit leader of the group of football club members in 1-B.

He denies having a crush on Airi, his childhood friend, but he certainly seems like he has one. His circle of friends is quite wide.

Satou Susumu

Friendly guy. He hangs with the other guys from the football club frequently. Closer to Yuusuke and Tatsumi than the others.

Suzuki Tatsumi

A friendly guy that’s quite social and easy to get along with. Always greeted Tomo in the mornings. Sits close to Tomo’s seat both before and after the seat change. He can’t tolerate injustices. He’s the son of the school’s director.

He and Yuusuke seem to be the leaders of the group of football players in class 1-B. He usually spends his time with the others in the same club as him.

Yamada Kenta

Tomo’s childhood friend, best friend and boyfriend. He’s the little brother of the owner of the café, and works there part-time.

Habitually flirty and known for his track record of dating, he’s a popular guy both in and outside of school. During his time at B High, he’s been one of the more serious club members.

Homeroom teacher for 1-B and quite a young teacher, having become one a few years ago. Has lived abroad.

Wakabayashi Ryuu

Health Education Teacher (Suzuki)

The teacher who most likely is the most familiar with Tomo. Not related to Suzuki Tatsumi in any way.

Aki works as a waitress at the café. She’s Sakura’s older sister, but not yet out about being trans.
