Another Year, Another Annyversary

Time to Read:

2 minutes

How was your 2023? Mine seems to have flown by so fast that I didn’t have time to update much. I battled problems related to Mini’s ADHD and because of my own health issues. I even ended the year with a bad cold in November, COVID in December, and I’m currently dealing with influenza too. Rough end, tough beginning. But I just gotta push through.

Nonetheless, the year has changed, and we have reached — and passed! — the 10th Annyversary since the relaunch of The Anny Blog after The Year. I can hardly believe it’s been 10 years.

Back then, my blog was almost entirely focused on anime, with some manga and VNs. Now it’s expanded to encompass all of my interests in fiction and literature, from reading to writing, from watching to playing — even a bit of listening, with the Japanese radio drama of The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation.

Some of you are new. It’s always fun to know that there are new visitors. Others have been around for as long as my blog has. Most of my older readers probably arrived in 2010 up to 2013. It would be fun to know who is and isn’t from way back. Are you a new or a veteran reader? Let me know!

That said, new and old alike, I’m happy you’ve remained with me through 2023, and I hope you look forward to my blog’s updates. Posts are slowly returning, one by one, with slight alterations to look and feel better.

My favourite post of 2023 must be Golden Terrace. It’s mostly because the books hold a very dear spot in my heart. I also posted my first story — Haunted, a fun(?) little story based on my project Blood of Destinies Rewritten, set in the modern world.

I hope that in 2024, there will be more posts and specifically more that end up feeling important to me. Not to mention, this is the year I’ll post chapters on my blog directly instead of other platforms. It just gives me a little more security.

I’m working on some plans for the coming months and still won’t leave the blog to fend for itself. Already tomorrow, I plan on dropping my first “proper” post. I haven’t quite decided what to write about just yet. I’m torn between exploring the three realms, delving into naming conventions in BoDR, or unravelling the basics of mana usage in WWFSFG

I hope it’s one of many future worldbuilding posts, and for 2024 to see a mix of reviews, worldbuilding, and stories.

What would you like to see? Perhaps more danmei reviews, or a dive back to now-near-ancient otome games?

Let’s now head through 2024 together. Last year was very calm on this blog, dull even, so I hope it’ll be a ride for you!
