Bilibili Comics Shutdown

Time to Read:

37 minutes

On January 24th, 2024, Bilibili Comics announced the shutdown of the service on February 29, 2024. There’s a lot that can be said about Bilibili Comics and how they have operated in the past 2, 2.5 years, but the conclusion is the same, whether the criticism is positive or negative, so there’s not much point in discussing all the issues and their, at times questionable or failed, solutions.

The service has continued to be updated with new chapters, possibly due to the fact that people have paid for Early Access. But I personally think that should have been refunded when there was just 1 month to the shutdown of the service if the purpose is early access. It’s not “early” if the service shuts down. That’s more like a scam.

We’re on the finale days and they have definitely not offered a few days of free access for all so they’ll end the service with this scam as well.

Over these years, I’ve actually used Bilibili Comics quite frequently, and have read a lot. So I went through the entire title list at the time of writing the initial intro (2 weeks ago) and listed each that I have at some point read, or tried to read, to share what I thought about it and how much I read. Some are available on other sites as well, or they are adapted from novels. I’ll try to share as much information as I can about these, and I’ll also add links when there are any other sources to read the titles in English, either novel or comic.

List of titles

A Guide to Reincarnation

Based on the novel Is the Guide Reborn by Bu Jian Bu Jie.
I read 51 chapters before I dropped it. I was originally intrigued, but the manhua is confusing. Not worth reading. Apparently, the novel is better.

A Heart-Captivating Smile

Based on the novel An Arranged Marriage: What a Beautiful Bride.
This is short at 25 chapters and it’s very fast-paced and disjointed. Damn, I barely understood what was going on.

A Moonlit Spring River

Story by Zhao Puling.
I read 18 chapters. While intriguing in its own right, it wasn’t for me, and I couldn’t get over the art style. Something with it just bothered me.

A Single Strike of Shimmering Frost

Based on the novel A Sword of Frost by Yu Xiao Lan Shan. Art by Hua Tengteng.
I’ve read all of season 1, so that means 87 chapters and some bonus chapters. It’s definitely interesting with the mysteries and the end goal of the characters. I’ve enjoyed it a lot.

Antidote

Based on the novel Antidote by Wu Zhe. Art by Cha Cha.
I’ve read all 98 chapters, but the manhua was cancelled once the copyright expired. I appreciated the depiction of mental illness and the relationship was overall quite sweet.

As the Fox Says

Story by Sand in Water. Art by Peach.
I dropped this on chapter 3, so I didn’t get very far. I lost interest. The story wasn’t good enough for the amount of text I needed to read in a tiny font while on my phone. That’s it. The art is really nice, though.

AWM: PUBG

Based on the novel AWM: PUBG by Man Man He Qi Duo. Art by Love to Eat Fish Rice.
This is a well-done adaptation. I’ve read 44 chapters so far and will try to get a few more read. The author is the author of Those Years in Quest of Honor Mine, so I might read the novel since the manhua piqued my curiosity.

Bazaar of Monsters

Story by Jingge. Art by Meimeizi.
I’ve read all there is on this, meaning 51 chapters, and it’s marked as completed, but it ends at a very odd place. It definitely gives more “cancellation after a volume was finished” vibes.

Becoming a Girl at Night

Created by Kaneko.
I have read about 25 chapters and I get the premise, but the story isn’t quite memorable, so I also don’t really remember what I read. Does that even make sense?
Also available on INKR and Webcomics.

Before and After Goodbye

Based on the story Before and After Divorce by Deranged Melon Skin. Art by Egg Muffin.
I was actually planning on reviewing this ages ago after reading a lot of it, but I never got around to it. I might still post it after going over the draft, or I’ll leave it be.

Bitten to Reign

I guess I’ll say this is an interesting story, as I’ve read 90 chapters. It’s very action-focused though, so I frequently get bored.
Also available on Mangatoon and Webcomics.

Bow Before My Wealth!

Based on the novel Ni Shifu Woren Sha Qian Duo by Mo Chen Huan. Art by Turbo.
I read through all of this one, which is 57 chapters long, and then re-read it again while writing this post because it’s a fun read.

Breaking Through the Clouds

Based on the novel A Break in the Clouds by Huai Shang. Art by Yin Hu Zhi Shang.
I love the novel of this and I was extremely sad when the licence ran out so the manhua had to get cancelled after 100 chapters (and 4 extras). The place it got cancelled at is also really too bad. The extras kind of shoehorn some of the future events in, so that’s… something? I guess?
On the upside, the novel has been licenced by Rosmei for release in 2025.
I’ve previously reviewed this.

Chrono Go

Based on the novel Lan Ke Qi Yuan by Zhen Feishi. Art by My Drawing Bananana.
I’ve read 94 chapters and it’s been fun! I like the character progression and the character arcs for the side characters. Another bummer there’s nowhere to keep reading it.

Craftsman

Based on the novel Ren Jiang by Colorless Sugar Cube.
I had to check and I had read 37, 38 chapters, apparently. I guess this wasn’t very impressionable because what I do remember is there is this one guy and probably this one girl and they travel. That’s it. That’s my impression of it.
I’ve previously reviewed this.

Deadly Game

This is complete at 42 chapters, which doesn’t feel complete at all. It’s one of these “Oh yeah, this totally is finished, lol” type of titles. In other words, it’s very unfinished. Not really great either, ngl.
Also available on Mangatoon and Webcomics.

Dear Boy, You Dropped Your Integrity

Created by October Forest Studios.
I read 66 chapters of this before I dropped it. It was one of the first I read and dropped and I just noped out because it went in a direction I wasn’t comfortable with.
I’ve previously reviewed this.

Delighted to Meet You

Story by Chang Gan. Art by Xiao Dai.
I read through all 40 chapters and I remember it’s… interesting. It’s not exactly good. It’s more… tolerable as the story is a bit hard to follow, but the art is nice and the characters are pretty interesting. Something like that. It needed fleshing out and a continuation.

Demon Apartment

Based on the novel Demon Apartment by Zui Yin Chang Ge. Art by Zhi Yue.
I think this had a very interesting story. At the time of writing, I have a few chapters left, but I’ve essentially finished it, and I liked the character progression and the romance plot.

Did the Top Student Get a Cutie Today?

Based on the novel Did the Top Student Get a Cutie Today? by Li Su. Art by Yiyu Zi.
I read 50 chapters of this one and I probably just got tired of it, eventually, because I can’t remember why I stopped. It could also have been that I shelved it and forgot to continue reading. That happens too.

Dinghai Fusheng Records

Based on the novel Dinghai Fusheng Records by Fei Tian Ye Xiang. Art by Qian Er Bai.
This is one of those title I’ve read in cycles. I quite like it, but I just can’t bother to follow it regularly. I don’t like it that much. The art is pretty good though, so that’s a bonus.

Does Love at First Sight Exist in E-Sports?

Based on the novel Does Love at First Sight Exist in E-Sports? by Lucifer.
I have just barely started the third chapter. It just felt so cringy to me that I couldn’t continue. It’s been ages since I started it, but it made that much of an impression on me despite what little I read, so I think that says a lot.

Don’t Flirt with His Highness

Created by iCiyuan.
This one was pretty good and I’ve read up to chapter 224, and while the story is pretty decent, the secondhand embarrassment I hit at chapter 224 was so much I just couldn’t continue. I liked it until then, at the very least.
Also available on INKR and Webcomics.

Don’t Mess with the Boss

Created by iCiyuan.
I’ve read 12 chapters and I think I just lost interest after that. But it’s been a while.
Also available on INKR, Mangatoon, Webcomics and Webnovel.

Don’t Mess with the Cultivation Babysitter

Based on the novel Xiuzhen Naiba Re Bu Qi by Qingting Dongman. Art by Lou Xiaoyue is Never Happy.
This was, uh, interesting? I’ve read it in full, meaning all 116 chapters. It kind of ends abruptly, but at least it has a proper ending with the main ship getting together.
Also available on Lalatoon, Mangatoon and Toomics.

Don’t Say You Love Me

Created by Xi Yu’er.
Because the service shut down before the entire series was released in English, I haven’t finished it, although I’m almost done and that is a bit infuriating. I liked this one a lot too. I did read it in cycles, so I read some of it, then waited, then read some of it, then waited, so it wasn’t one of those I had to know what would happen ASAP, but it’s also one of those I desperately want to finish. Time to read it in Chinese, I suppose.

Dragon Prince Yuan

Based on the novel Dragon Prince Yuan by Li Hu, also known as Tian Can Ti Dou. Art by Dr Da Ji.
I got tired of how the chapters were split into much shorter chapters, always in parts one and two. So I dropped it about 20 chapters in.
The novel is available on Wuxiaworld.

Endless Dream

Story by Xiao Chen Yao Hai and Yi Qianqian. Art by Popo.
I had to read back on this because I’ve mentally filtered it all out. As I was re-reading, I realised the reason why I stopped reading was because I was so confused about what was happening.

Escape Game

Story by VON. Art by Hong Yao.
I’ve read the first four volumes and I will have to sit down and read the last one in the next couple of days, but I haven’t gotten around to it because it’s difficult to read the text on my phone. It was really good so I think it’s a bit of a shame that the last volume is just the script.

Eternal First Son-in-Law

Based on the novel Eternal Son-in-Law by Chun Qing Xi Li Ge. Art by Zhang Yue.
I lost interest during the second chapter. That’s all I have to say.
Also available on Mangatoon and Webcomics.

Facing Off Against the Scumbag Top

Based on the novel Facing Off Against the Scumbag Top by Ju Mao Gege. Art by White Crane River.
The gong in this one is pretty infuriating, ngl, but I also feel like the shou makes a few really weird decisions, but I’ll just blame it on hormones… I guess?

Fake Slackers

Based on the novel Fake Slackers by Mu Gua Huang. Art by C7.
I’ve read the three volumes that have been released, so that’s 36 chapters. I love the novel of this and the manhua did it justice. It’s been fun to read about Xie Yu and He Zhao and their shenanigans in a different form. I reread it once more before the shutdown of the service.
I’ve previously reviewed this.

Fall in Mistaken Love

Story by Tang Di. Art by Ba Keng.
I’ve read 77 chapters at the time of writing but can read it to the end. This is a pretty good series, ngl. I like the intrigue and drama in it.
Bilibili Comics had the censored version, but an uncensored version is on Webcomics.

Forced to be a Princess After Reincarnating in Another World

Created by Liang Hewen.
I like strong women, and the main character in this one is one of them. I’ve read 118 chapters of this and thoroughly enjoyed how she won’t take any bs.

Global Examination

Based on the novel Global Examination by Mu Su Li. Art by E Ze.
I’ve read 100 chapters of this. I don’t have much sense of crisis for the loss of the English translation, because I’ve already read the original novel. It’s still too bad to see it go, but luckily(?) the novel has been licenced by Rosmei.
I’ve previously reviewed this.

God of Deception

Created by Ordinary Ghost.
I’ve read 13 chapters and while I like the premise, I lost interest.

Goddess Making System

This one I didn’t actually read on Bilibili, but I’m adding it because I’ve read a bit on it before. I didn’t like it.
It’s available on Mangatoon and Webnovel.

Good Night, Liang Xiao

Based on the novel Good Night, Liang Xiao by Like Honey. Art by Si Zhou.
This leaves me with a strange combination of feeling like I’m reading something wholesome and sweet and a sense of discomfort. I’ve read 41 chapters but haven’t quite figured out why I feel like this.

Hands Off, Evil Dragon!

Another “this is totally completed :P” series. It ends super abruptly at the end of chapter 56 and, to be honest, that’s not a loss to me, but still.

Heaven Official’s Blessing

Based on the novel Heaven Official’s Blessing by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. Art by STARember.
This is definitely one of my favourites, and it’s really a shame to see it go after 101 chapters. TGCF was probably also one of Bilibili Comics’ flagship series due to its popularity.
The novel has been published by Seven Seas in eight volumes, all released, so there’s an alternative for those who don’t know Chinese. There’s also an animated series in 2 seasons. Highly recommend both the novel and the animated series.
I’ve previously reviewed this.

His Highness’ Allure

Based on the novel Dianxia Qingcheng by Feng He Ju E.
I’ll admit I might not have given this much of a chance because I’ve only read 2 chapters, but I also didn’t like the main ship whatsoever. The gong was just awful, lol.

How do We Fall in Love Without Bodies?

Created by 2396 Studio.
This is fairly interesting as a premise, and I like the way they can go into the virtual world. It’s a pretty sweet romance and I’m probably a bit weak to heroines who get bullied but then start making friends. However, I’ve got a bit bored by the pacing.

How to Train Your Demon King

Created by Sen.
The fact that this was left unfinished (or you know, “completed”) after 61 chapters bothers me so much. I feel like I might have to write a fanfic or something just to get a continuation. Problem is that I’ve forgotten a lot of the story, so I’d have to re-read it in Chinese for that. Oh well. Lol.

How’d I Get a Heroine’s Script?

Story by Bu Ke Zhi. Art by Shi Er.
This is one of the series I kept coming to Bilibili Comics for. I’ve read to chapter__ and like it very much. I’m sad that it won’t see completion in English when the original is already finished, but what can one do about it? Nothing.

How’d You Two Become a Couple While Gaming?

Based on the novel How’s You Two Become a Couple While Gaming? by Yi Yi Yi Yi. Art by Man Shen Gong Chuang.
I got this recommended to me while I was reading another manhua based on a novel by Yi Yi Yi Yi . It’s pretty good; I think I might like the execution of this better than How to Survive as a Villain, which was my first exposure to Yi Yi Yi Yi (although in manhua form). I’ve read 62 chapters, so I just have a few more to finish this series. I think it sucks it’ll be another goner in just a few days.

I Brought a Vampire Into My Own Sect

Created by Xi Jun.
This, I’ve read 32 chapters of. It’s not the greatest, in my opinion, so I won’t really miss it. But I did enjoy the way it went around censoring. The art is stunning, though.

I Can Do What I Want Because I’m Handsome

Based on the novel I Can Do What I Want Because I’m Handsome by Jia Feng Sheng Cun. Art by Sigh Duck-
This one was not very memorable. It’s modern-day and BL and this one MC… Idk, fam, I don’t really remember what even happened. I have vague memories of a café and someone being jealous? Yeah, not very memorable.

I Ship My Rival x Me

Based on the novel I Ship My Rival x Me by PEPA. Art by Qualia.
I quite like the novel of this. It’s a really fun story and the adaptation is really good! The art is so soft and fluffy and the comedy is well executed. If you get the chance to read either for something really silly, do it! I’m a little bummed out I’ve only read 72 chapters and won’t be able to finish it before the service is shut down.

I Want to Be a Big Baddie

Story by Mu Huoran. Art by Zhong Yun.
I’ve read 118 episodes of this one and it’s one of the series I kept going back to Bilibili for. It’s a very good quick transmigration series and I’m incredibly fond of Wang Yi. Definitely a shame to lose the English translation, especially since it’s one of the better ones.

I Want to Hear You Say That You Like Me

Story by Zhaopai Subing. Art by Gan Mei Yao Yao Le.
This was cancelled, yet it was translated. That feels super ironic. In any case, it had tons of potential, in my opinion, but was cut off after 70 chapters, including extras. Really a shame. Can’t say I’ll miss it too much because it was clearly cancelled.

I’ll Get My Deskmate to Hit You

Based on the novel I’ll Get My Deskmate to Hit You by Kao Kao. Art by Long Ji.
I don’t know how to feel about this one, if I’mma be entirely honest. I think the MC is really a sweet baby, and the LI’s home situation sucks, but as far as the story goes, I can’t say it’s good or bad. It just neutrally exists as one of the titles I’ve been reading.

I’m More Dangerous than You

Story by An De. Art by Zhuang Zhuang.
I’ve read 17 chapters of this one and I’m incredibly intrigued. I was waiting for it to end but didn’t get around to reading it. Although I could, in theory, finish it now, I’ve decided not to spend money on that last episode on “early” access, or the remaining 62 chapters I need to unlock. Maybe if I had unlocked it when the announcement was made, then I’d finish it. Send recs on comics/manhua/manhwa/manga or novels like this, kthx.

I’ve Gone Viral Thanks to My Crush

Based on the novel I’ve Gone Viral Thanks to My Crush by Qiang Tang.
This started out alright, but I lost interest after a while. I pushed myself to read it until chapter 90 and then I just went “NOPE” and stopped to focus on better titles.
It’s also available on INKR and Mangatoon fully uncensored and on Webcomics partially censored.

I, the Empress, Will Become Emperor

Story by Bai Tang.
I’ve read about 3.5 chapters. I felt so much awkwardness from the MC that I couldn’t continue.
It’s also available on Lalatoon and Toomics.

Kiss the Abyss

Story by Mu Huoran. Art by Duo Yu.
I’ve completed this 128-chapter story. It’s pretty good, in my opinion. It was really weird, but in a good way, and I appreciate seeing an explicitly bisexual MC.

Married to a Stupid Eunuch

Based on the novel I Married an Exasperating Eunuch by Ling Luo Cheng Ni. Art by Hupo Shu.
This is another title I’ve finished. It ends a bit weird in chapter 95, but it was all right. I want to read the original novel.

Mr. Dior: The CEO’s Million Dollar Bride

Based on the novel Mr. Dior by Lu Ye Qian He. Art by One Thousand.
The premise of this is so incredibly wild and the art is amazing. I need to give the novel a chance sometime because I definitely haven’t had enough at 11 chapters of the manhua.

Mr. Snail

Story by Ye You, Art by Yi Gen Tui Mao.
I liked this quite a lot and read 85 chapters. Then it was on a break and I didn’t continue when it continued. I’ll try to finish it before the shutdown of the service.

My Boss is a Goddess

Story by Fe Shi. Art by Ah Tai.
I feel like there aren’t enough crossdressers in comics, but this does satisfy my need for it a little bit. It’s a pretty good series that I enjoyed reading. A shame the English translation will disappear soon.

My Boyfriend is so “Use-Full”

Created by 2396 Studio.
The art is cute, but it’s 34 chapters of weird plot, ngl. The ending is very open but I think it works out… probably?

My Little Secret With the Demon Lord

Story by Luo Qisha. Art by Lao Mei.
This is really beautiful artwise and the story is also very interesting. I’ve read 91 chapters so far and will finish reading it very soon since it’s completed. I’ll miss it, ngl.

My MMO Wife is a Cultivator

Created by Taxue Comics.
This was cancelled, and I actually shelved it after 2 chapters. It has potential so I guess it’s a bit of a bummer that the series itself was dropped, and it’s just strange to translate something cancelled.
Also available on INKR.

My Sister Picked Up the Male Lead

Based on the novel by Moon Sihyun. Art by Doubu.
I liked this a lot. Sometimes. I didn’t like it at all. Sometimes. The ship is honestly pretty sweet, but I also can’t get over that the ML is basically either a kid or an adult depending on the time of day and the MC often says and does different things.
Available on DAYcomics, Lalatoon, Pocket Comics, Tapas and Tappytoon.

My Werewolf System

Based on the novel My Werewolf System by JKSManga.
This is the only OE title in this list that I’ve read. I didn’t even read much, just 7 and a half chapters. Then I got tired of it and the MC hadn’t even turned into a werewolf yet. LMAO.

My Yandere Husband is Forcing Himself on Me

Based on the novel Bing Jiao Fu Jun Ying Shang Gong by Meng Qian Xi.
I got through 18 chapters, but then I encountered spiders and I didn’t have a great interest in the story to begin with so I nope out hard and won’t go back ever.

My Young Lady is a NEET

Story by Xiong Ji. Art by Sunflower Braised Quail.
I barely remember what this was even about in the first place. The title is kind of self-explanatory. It didn’t make much impression in the end, and I never finished the last three chapters, forever staying at chapter 76. Send help.

National School Prince is a Girl

Based on the novel National School Prince is a Girl by Zhan Qi Shao.
The story is fine, but the order of the images was all jumbled up after some point so I gave up because it was impossible to read.
Also available on Mangatoon, PocketComics and Webnovel.

Need a Cat, Dear Deity?

Created by Kitty Roe Factory.
This one is marked as complete, but I think it must have been abandoned since it doesn’t actually have an ending in chapter 24. In any case, I’ve read all of it. Wasn’t really worth my time, ngl.

No Rejection Allowed

I think I tried to read this like three times and the conclusion was in the end: Nope. There were just some things that didn’t sit well with me. All times combined I did manage to get to chapter 99, so I certainly gave it a fair chance.
Available on Lalatoon, Lezhin US, Tappytoon and Webcomics.

Offering My Neck to You

Created by Zhong Yun.
This is one of the first stories I read on Bilibili Comics, yet it’s also one of the last I finished, meaning I read all 92 chapters. I think the story is a bit dull, but the art is decent. Older characters look a bit off, but gold star for trying.

Omega Files

The licence of this expired, so it was something I remembered after writing the initial list. I can’t remember how much I read, but I didn’t like it. It could have been good… if the execution had been better.
Available on Tapas and Webcomics.
I’ve previously reviewed this.

Our Young Master’s Plans are Infallible

I’ve completed this a long time ago. It’s 126 chapters so not ridiculously long. It was all right, I suppose. I mostly finished it because I had read so much already, or else I would have dropped it around maybe chapter 80?

Pixiu’s Eatery, No Way Out

Based on the novel Pixiu Restaurant, No Way Out by Hai Jingluo. Art by Jiu Ao Ao.
This is a really good one, IMO. It’s been a ride to read because sometimes it gets wild but in a good way. Definitely worth reading 105 chapters. I’ll finish it before the shutdown as well.

Please Spare Me! Apprentice!

Based on the novel Please Spare Me! Apprentice! Art by Itfez.
Sometimes I pick up the most random things out of curiosity. This is one of them. I also dropped it after 7 chapters when I had satisfied my curiosity. It wasn’t exactly worth reading much of since it wasn’t my genre.

Psychomachia

Based on the novel Xin Kuang by Chu He. Art by No Zen For Me.
I’m bummed that it hadn’t more to it, but I guess I’ll have to read the novel. I might read the prequel too.
I’ve previously reviewed this.

Rebirth

Story by Ceci. Art by Jiyo.
This was better than I expected when I began reading but that’s not to say I find it great. It has a horribly rushed ending too. I know I was sitting like “????” while reading the ending because so much happened at once.
Available on DAYcomics, Lalatoon, Pocket Comics and Tappytoon.

Rebirth as the Great Celestial

Created by The Fool.
Another title I picked up out of curiosity and dropped almost as quick. I didn’t particularly like it. I believe it was because I felt nothing was really explained. In the end, I dropped it after 12 chapters.
Available on INKR, Webcomics and Webnovel.

Resplendent

Based on the novel Cui Can by Shui Zai Jing Zhong. Art by Hidden Claw.
I’m not too interested in this and have read 15 chapters. I think I could possibly try the novel and see if I prefer that. It could be that it just entered my life at the wrong time; I’ve been in a more Unlimited Flow kind of mood, and this is definitely even remotely close. LOL.

Saved the Public Enemy by Mistake

Created by Liu Mu Qiao.
I’ve read to chapter 109. This is one of my favourites, and I’ve been following it for quite some time. This is one I’ll definitely miss. At the same time, the translation wasn’t great, so it might not be a shame that it’ll be gone.

Scream Queen

Based on the novel Scream Queen by Yin Fa Sin Yu Yan. Art by Xu Ersan.
I’ve been dedicated to this ever since I began reading it. It’s such a perfect balance of horror, a bit of gore and comedy. Zhu Yang is also such a bad bitch — I love her!
I’ve previously reviewed this one.

Silver Devil King

Based on the novel Silver Demon King by Lee Hwan.
In the beginning, it was really interesting. I especially like the incubus, ngl. But as the story goes on, I lost interest and after 60 chapters I just gave up and shelved it. If I happen to choose a platform it’s available on, I’ll consider continuing it, I suppose.
Available on Lalatoon, Pocket Comics and Tappytoon.

So It’s a City of Pretty boys!

The MC is so unlucky. I know it’s supposed to be funny, but I just think she’s tragic. Also, the story is utter chaos. I couldn’t keep up and dropped it after 8 chapters.

Straight Girl Trap

Story by Qu Bing Xiancao Dong. Art by 42 Degrees Latte.
I started reading this before Bilibili Comics made the series paid for. I read 39 chapters and once it was premium’d I never picked it up again. I liked it at the time of reading, but I guess it’s just one of those times when I couldn’t be arsed and then it came and bit me in the arse because there’s no way I’ll catch up before Bilibili Comics shuts down, and the story isn’t even finished in the first place.

Tales of a Spirit Counsellor

I started reading this and got to chapter 35. Then I lost interest and never touched it again.

Taoism Ruler

Story by Overcoming Sadness. Art by Blue Mountain.
I was on the fence when I started reading it and 34 chapters later I was still on the fence. I simply shelved it to read more at a later date. Turns out that later date will be never.

The Crown Prince Lost His Mind

Created by 2396 Studio.
I’ve read all 172 chapters and the extras of this. It was an interesting read, with an interesting direction. It’s a bit unfortunate that it’ll be gone as well, but not the greatest loss.

The Dark Prince is Hard to Please

Created by Zui Meng Dongman.
This is another one I wasn’t really certain about yet read a lot. I essentially forgot it even existed when it got shelved after 90 chapters and ngl, I don’t feel like continuing it.

The Demon King Wants to be Friends with Me

Created by Tu Fang Ling
I’ve read this one in full, which wasn’t particularly difficult; it’s 36 chapters. It was pretty heart-warming if you ask me. I enjoyed it a lot and was a little sad that I didn’t get more of the main characters. I think it ended at the right place, though.

The Distance Between Us

Created by Inmi.
This was another heartwarming, good, and short read. I would have liked a continuation, but it’s not bad where it ended, ngl.
Also available on DAYcomics, INKR and Lalatoon.

The Great Tang is Online

This was so strange to read that I dropped it after 4 chapters.

The Man Who Became King

Created by Chongzuo Comics.
This is one of those titles which I suppose I wouldn’t say I like, but it’s also good enough for me to want to read what happens next and that’s how I’ve read 64 chapters of it. So I guess it’s all right. I like the art though and the premise is pretty good.
Also available on Lalatoon, Mangatoon and Toomics.

The Martial Emperor’s Life After Seclusion

Based on the novel The Martial Emperor’s Life After Seclusion by Yi Baijun. Art by Hedgehog on a Plane and Shrimpman.
This is another series I continued following for a long time, and I got to episode 223. I think it was more fun at the beginning, then it kind of went in a direction I didn’t like, but I still liked Ling Ge, so I kept reading. I probably wouldn’t continue, even if it was available elsewhere though.
I’ve previously reviewed this.

The Pretty Houseboy in the Attic

Created by Guang Yan.
This is a pretty cute romance that is actually well executed at 33 chapters. Many webcomics can be really rushed if short, but this one just works out with a good pacing and plot balance. The art is very cute too, I like it. A shame it’s only on Bilibili Comics.

The Prince is a Giant Tiger

Created by Ake Culture.
I was initially intrigued but the files were either messed up or missing or corrupted so I just noped out and went on with my life. Maybe I’ll try reading it again at a later date.
Available on Webcomics and Webnovel.

The Reincarnation of the Influential Courtier

Based on the novel The Reincarnated Minister by Tian Xie. Art by Ban Mu.
While I enjoy court intrigue and transmigrations novels, this was not it. I might try the novel instead. I truly lost interest quite quickly, and I know that in the 10 first chapters, the love interest hadn’t even appeared yet, just characters you could ship the MC with. But, man, the art is gorgeous.

The Return of the Sect Leader

Created by Qingmo Cangqiong.
This seems like it would have been great, but it ended up having issues with the chapters released and skipped four twice in a row, leaving readers with two giant gaps that never got filled. But the 21 chapters I read really seemed promising.

The Road of Immortality

Based on the novel The Path Toward Heaven by Mao Ni. Art by Happy Rice Cake.
I really like this one. The art is good and it’s a lot more focused on cultivation than romance and I can appreciate that too. The 70 chapters were great entertainment and made me move on to reading the novel too.
The novel is available on Webnovel.

The Self-Cultivation of the Provincial Commander

Story by Tang Dao. Art by Si Xi.
This is a very interesting societal reversal story, where the men are the oppressed. I like it a lot because of the difference in society that it portrays. Well, I also like court intrigue and historical settings, so I guess there’s more to it than the reversal of the importance and standing of men and women in society.

The True Scandal

Based on the novel The True Scandal by Ka Bi Qiu. Art by Minus a Strand of Hair.
I’ve read 74 chapters and it’s a lot of drama. Like a lot of drama. To the point, I feel like it’s… nothing else, really? Indeed, my impression is that there’s basically no downtime, just drama.

The World Isn’t as Beautiful as You

I started reading this with no expectations. It lived up to that very precisely in the 10 chapters I read. In other words, it’s not necessarily bad, but it certainly wasn’t anything I liked.

There are Weirdos All Over Jianghu

Based on the novel Everywhere in Jianghu is Wonderful by Yu Xiao Lan Shan. Art by Wen Che Lao Yao.
The premise was kind of odd, but also I’ve read enough transmigration novels to actually think it’s normal while reading and just stop right before I write this comment and go “wait a minute”. So it’s not outrageous. I wasn’t particularly fond of the story of the manhua and dropped it after 28 chapters. I gave it a fair chance.

This Princess Consort is a Man

Art by Jiao NIKI.
I read 4 chapters and felt kind of uncomfortable and that was the end of that experience.

This Sweet Online Date is a Disaster

Created by Dao Sheng Project.
This gives me Bow Before My Wealth! vibes except the MC isn’t foolish. It does mean I’ve enjoy the 18 chapters I’ve read. I’ll probably read a bit more before the end of the service, but only if I have enough time to. I might continue reading it in Chinese.

Those Years in Quest of Honor Mine

Based on the novel Those Years in Quest of Honor Mine by Man Man He Qi Duo. Art by Mu Zhi.
Before Bilibili Comics was released, I had already read the novel, so it was a given I’d read the manhua as well. It’s a fairly good adaptation, so I had a good experience reading this, but it’s missing some essential information which is quite a shame because it means people who haven’t read the novel might not be able to follow the story.
I’ve previously reviewed this.

Tianbao Fuyao Lu

Based on the novel Tianbao Fuyao Lu by Fei Tian Ye Xiang. Art by Wrap.
This was cancelled after 72 chapters, making it 5 volumes, due to the artist’s health, which I think is fine. It also ended at a pretty good place, making it open-ended. It could have ended there as its own original story as well, with potential for continuation, so I really think it was a perfect place to cancel it. I will need to read the novel at some point though.
While the manhua and novel aren’t available, there’s an animated series going by the name Legend of Exorcism available with (at the very least) subtitles. Last I checked it was on Netflix but may be on other platforms as well.

Trapping the Foxy Doctor

Story by Zhishi Bang. Art by Kun Fan.
This might be one of the most wholesome comics I’ve read about mental health. More over, basically everyone in the story have something they deal with. The patients of the psychiatric clinic, the rando dropping in because his fav streamer is a guy, the psychiatrist, the psychiatrist’s friend and family. Everyone. And that’s not criticism; it’s praise! Because that’s just how things are. People need to deal with stuff and it sucks and we can have a hot gay psychiatrist fall for a perhaps slightly sexually confused doctor because of it. I approve. Comics that frame mental illness more positively without dismissing the severity and dangers of poor mental health is really good and something we do need to see more! And it sucks that this is no longer going to be available. Let me just pray someone licences this like yesterday.

Vicious Dependence

Story by Jin Gang Juan. Art by Xiao Xiao Ning.
This is fairly short, but I’ve only read just over half at chapter 29. I’ll try to finish it before the end of the service, but it’s not high on my list. It was alright, I suppose, but didn’t really catch my attention.

Villain Initialization

Story by Mo You. Art by CuZn.
This was already removed a long time ago, but I’m adding it here in any case. I really liked this and was sad to see it go back then. Still sad about it now. It’s such a good series.
I’ve previously reviewed this.

We Are Different Your Majesty

Created by Chen Lan.
I’ve somehow forgotten what this is even about, other than an emperor with amnesia and… Yeah, no, I forgot the rest, really. I can’t remember which characters were actually in it. It’s supposedly complete at 85 chapters, but yeah, another one that doesn’t seem very “complete” at the end of the chapter.

We’re all Transmigrators, so Why Am I the Criminal?

Based on the novel We’re all Transmigrators so Why am I the Criminal? by Yi Yi Yi Yi. Art by Cai Ji.
Another Yi x4 novel, and another one I have only read the manhua of. This is pretty good, I suppose. I like it a lot, however it can feel a bit tedious to read sometimes. Maybe that’s just me.
I’ve previously reviewed reviewed this.

Xian Chan Nu

Story by Y God. Art by PIKAPI.
I shelved this and then never got around to reading it. When I was going to read it a good while later, I realised I had forgotten what it was about, so I couldn’t be arsed reading it again. I think I’ve read 39 chapters, but I’m honestly not entirely sure.

Yesterday was like Death

Based on the novel Yesterday was like Death by Hui Nan Que. Art by Blue Beneath the Moon.
This is slightly heavy to read and I wasn’t particularly fond of it. I did read all 73 chapters and the extras though, but I felt the main ship was very, very questionable in very, very many ways. I also got The Missing Piece vibes from it, I guess. Just kind of the reverse, maybe?

I used Bilibili comics to read Chinese (and occasionally Korean) webcomics, so I never actually really looked in the “Comic” and “Novel” sections until I was writing this post and I’d say… it doesn’t seem I missed much. I also do think that the majority using the app also looked for primarily Chinese titles.

That said, I’d also like to mention a few more titles that I didn’t read:

The original novels of Salad Days and Silent Heartbeat have been released by Via Lactea in two volumes each. They also have the licence for the novel version of Lip and Sword. Rosmei has licensed Drowning Sorrows in Raging Fire for release in 2024?

I mention these because I spent hours upon hours researching, looking up titles to find novels not listed on English sites, and all that, just to share things as accurately as possible. It was like a labyrinth. I actually sat and read part of Lan Ke Qi Yuan to determine if the novel and the manhua were the same story. There was dedication involved in this, y’all. So I just wanted to add that there are options in English or will be, even if I didn’t consume the title myself.

If you have any thoughts on the shutdown or any of the series that were on Bilibili Comics, why don’t you let me know in a comment? Will you be able to continue reading it, or is it a Bilibili exclusive title? Regardless of how it is for me, I’ll probably move to Webcomics or Webnovel and we’ll see what I end up reading this time.
