[Guild] Teenam Mortana: We one healer short? Otherwise full?

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Which one of you will have me? Hoedi? Odyja?

[Guild] Hoedi Kodokki: I WILL NOT

[Guild] Hoedi Kodokki: NO

[Guild] Hoedi Kodokki: ABSOLUTY NOT

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Oh, you’re volunteering? Don’t mind if I make you night the most exciting thing in your life xoxo

[Guild] Hoedi Kodokki: I SAID NO

[Guild] Hoedi Kodokki: I WILL NOT

[Guild] Hoedi Kodokki: HAVE T IN MY PARTY

[Guild] Hoedi Kodokki: NO

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: No full caps in chat.

Gituda Tuuk arrived in Ilsako, one of the smaller town of the Irilsoj area, for the sole honourable purpose of… the Hunter’s Log.

The wood elf found the bar and, in a corner, with no one watching, changed out of the Beast Tamer garb and put away the Rune of Commands. Instead, Gituda Tuuk put on the humble dress and armour of a Hunter. After some consideration, the wood elf determined a bow would be the best for this occasion and purpose.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Good morning VC!

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Good evening to you too Teenam.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Are you doing the Frozen Seas raid today?

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Yep!

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Let the strategist have two healers. Odyja can take you. Don’t tease them.

[Guild] Odyja Sorbanja: What? Why do I need to take T?? What happened??

[Guild] Feni Kunas: You’re missing a healer for the raid. So Hoedi gets two healers and you get our full-time healer-only.

The beasts right outside of Ilsako weren’t too bad. There were a few Corrupted Elks, which Gituda Tuuk needed to get twenty of to fulfil the requirement. Instead of staying near the town, Gituda Tuuk moved further east toward the Southeast Irilsoj where there were War Boars as well. War Boars were highly aggressive and Hunters were a gathering class. However, they were also part of the highest tier of the Hunter’s Log.

To receive the achievement for the era, one had to fulfil the entire log that was given upon the change of a new era. Gituda Tuuk was still on the last era’s log, but this didn’t bother the elf. There had been a focus on many other things, so despite the years between the changes of eras, Gituda Tuuk prioritised other things.

Now, however, time was for the completion of the Stormcaller Hunter’s Log.

[Guild] Odyja Sorbanja: Get over to voice call. We’re about to start. Raiding these frost giants is hard as it is with 2 parties. Don’t need to you mess around outside of voice chat.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Give me a minute. Software is updsting.

[Guild] Odyja Sorbanja: gdi

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: What did the world tree do to you? Don’t soil our divine being’s name.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Pun intended.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Almost done.

[Guild] Feni Kunas: Report back how many times you whipe!

Gituda Tuuk spotted a War Boar. The elf paused and considered the speed of both body and mount. Perhaps…

…it was better to take a long way around that thing for now. Gituda Tuuk’s Hunter was only level fifty, after all.

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: how many times do i need to deliver cheese???

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: it feels like i’ve carries like fifteen or twenty different cheeses!

[Guild] Feni Kunas: Have yodone the one past Fireglade yet?

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: no

[Guild] Feni Kunas: I figured. Once you do the Fireglade one, tell me.

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: why?

[Guild] Feni Kunas: It’ll be fun! Just tell me when you go there.

Gituda Tuuk sensed that something was wrong and turned to see that a boar was headed straight toward him. The wood elf began running while also opening up the little bag and grabbed his garb and rune. In an instance, the wood elf went from a humble hunter to a Beast Tamer. The boar attacked frequently, forcing Gituda Tuuk to hide behind a rock formation. Using the rune, Gituda summoned a giant snake spirit to see if it helped.

He hadn’t fully evolved his relationship with it into something deeper, so sometimes it was a little prone to attacking him instead.

Today it decided to be a good snake. It hissed at the boar before it launched at it. The kill was instant.

You have defeated a War Boar.

You received 547 exp.

Snake Spirit received 138 exp.

Snake Spirit has increased its affection towards you.

Gituda Tuuk petted the snake spirit before realising it and retrieving it into the rune. Once again the wood elf changed into hunting gear.

[Private] Feni Kunas: I’M BORED.

[Private] Feni Kunas: I WANT TO RAID TOO.

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: Go raid then

The wood elf decided to sneak toward the next corrupted elk instead. Perhaps the boars wouldn’t notice.

[Private] Feni Kunas: Everyone is already raiding and I haven’t reached the content yet anyway.

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: there’s still MORE cheeses? and WINE this time? why can’t this weirdo couple use flowers as tokens. or, idk, send letters??

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: There’s a raid finder for you to use.

You have successfully hunted a Corrupted Elk.

You received 342 exp.

You received 6 pieces of dark elk meat.

[Guild] Feni Kunas: Cheese is the most romantic token there is in Velkrinni. At least I think that must be the lorr. There’s a second quest like this later.

[Private] Feni Kunas: Random raids are always so quiet and serious. What sre you doing?

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: Log completion.

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: A SECOND ONE??

[Private] Feni Kunas: Need help?

[Guild] Feni Kunas: Yep!

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: How’s your polearm proficiency?

[Guild] Feni Kunas: Maxed out.

[Guild] Feni Kunas: Oops

[Guild] Feni Kunas: Wrong chat

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: come to Irilsoj.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Who are you flirting with?

[Guild] Feni Kunas: I’m not you.

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: War Boars arr i terrulting me elk log en

[Guild] Feni Kunas: Aren’t you in the raid?

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: interrupting my log entry completion*

[Guild] Feni Kunas: Never mind.

[Guild] Feni Kunas: I’m flirting with Death.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Ran out of mana.

[Guild] Feni Kunas: Where in Irilsoj? South?

[Guild] Feni Kunas: Mana potions?

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Never heard of her.

[Guild] Feni Kunas: VC? You alive?

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: What’s VC doing?

[Guild] Feni Kunas: Hunting elks.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: entryway to Southeast

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Oh? The boars? If you had told me beflre the raid, I would have cast {Velkrinni’s Blessing} {Dragonskin} {Speed} and {Good Fortune} on you.

You have defeated a War Boar.

You received 537 exp.

Living Puppet received 134 exp.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Oh, and poison resistance! Never know when you might need that.

Living Puppet leveled up to level 58.

Living Puppet likes you a lot. It casts poison on you.

“…”

Gituda Tuuk could only find an antidote to relieve the love token. Perhaps it was time to remove Rosalie from the randomised beast rotation…

After removing it, it was time to get back to hunting.

He kept at a distance, hiding behind a tree, in case the level 78 elk charged. He shot two arrows before the elk turned.

The arrows weren’t very useful though and it took a long time to kill one to harvest it.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Anyone has any lightning arrows to sell?

[Guild] Feni Kunas: Ask Yeria Quur.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Not online. Go to the market place and by me 999.

[Guild] Feni Kunas: HOW MANY ELKS ARE YOU HUNTING?

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: 17.5

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Just a handful. You need no more than like 200.

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: 200?!!! that many???

[Guild] Feni Kunas: What do you even know about hunting elks, bard?

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: wait???

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: do archers need to buy a bunch of arrows??? what if they run out mid combat?

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Arrows are consumables that Hunters use. Javelins are like that too.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: I’ll sell the meat, bones and leather to the guild later.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Blades can be used too, but leather and meat are low quality if the proficiency isn’t maxed out.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: @Gituda Tuuk Makes sense.

[Guild] Odyja Sorbanja: TEENAM PAY ATTENTION. I’VE BEEN TELLING YOU WHAT TO DO.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Sorry Leader. I muted the voice call because you guys were loud and I’m out of morning coffee.

[Guild] Odyja Sorbanja: IN PARTY XHAT TOO.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: That’s on you. I’m always only reading guild chat.

[Guild] Odyja Sorbanja: THE *** YOU ARE

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Odyja, the rules about all-caps apply to the guild leader too, dumbskull.

Feffie arrived in her white and silver grey leather and metal armour after about half an hour.

By then, Gituda Tuuk had already managed to down a total of four elks and three boars. He had also run around for a good while, used up about twenty healing potions, been attacked twice by half-feral beast summons and met a high-level shaman who cast Velkrinni’s Blessing and Shield on him.

The fox immediately initiated a trade as he waved at her.

[Private] Feni Kunas: It was a pain to get 999 lightning arrows, you son of an elf. Pay me 1 mil gold.

Gituda offered 200 000 gold before accepting, not bothering with Feffie trying to scam him of his gold.

[Private] Feni Kunas: That’s 800k short.

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: I’ll shout and have someone get me some for 150k. You can keep those arrows then and do whatever you want with them.

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: Voice call.

Feffie accepted the trade and then idled. Gituda Tuuk checked her stats before he sent her a party invitation while waiting for Feffie to voice chat. She was about twenty levels away from reaching max level on the lancer job, while her warrior was at level forty.

As soon as they were in a voice call, the first thing Gituda Tuuk told the moon fox was, “You should level up the healer class to forty and get the dual class healing skills for Fighter and Healer.”

“Hello to you too, G,” the masculine voice on the other side replied.

“It will help with tanking. You can’t do heavy armour equipment, so being able to heal yourself is good.”

Feffie groaned. “Oh, shut up, Dad.”

“You’re older than I am,” Gituda Tuuk replied calmly. “Accept the party invitation.”

Before Feffie could say anything else, Gituda Tuuk was already moving towards the next elk to attack it, in full confidence that he wouldn’t get killed by the boars.

“This is why I don’t run dungeons with you. You always run ahead,” Feffie complained, but the fox was ahead of the elf just seconds later, taunting the boar that had just noticed Gituda Tuuk. “I’m not that old yet. We’re basically the same ago.”

“No, we’re not. I’m not even in my thirties. “

“Okay, almost the same age.”

Gituda Tuuk saw said moontail foxkin pull the aggressive boar away from the wood elf who dodged the charging elk. “You forgot something, old man,” he told Feffie before releasing an arrow at the elk. “Already getting a bit senile, I see.”

The fox jumped up and down in place as if to protest and a moment later, Gituda Tuuk saw the dumb fox get knocked back by the charging boar.

“Fool,” he said. “I didn’t think my beauty would be to such a degree that even a foxkin Wanderer such as you could be tamed. Perhaps I shouldn’t call myself a beast tamer anymore.”

“Shut up.”

“You’re clearly falling head over heels for me.”

“I’m knocked breathless by a boar, not you,” Feffie grumbled.

Gituda Tuuk laughed out loud. Feffie joined his laughter soon after.

The elk fell and Gituda Tuuk changed to Beast Tamer to send his trusted drakeling — named Wyrm by Gituda Tuuk — to assist Feffie in battle while he summoned a fox kit spirit to heal the moon fox.

“You got a new pet?” Feffie asked once the boar was defeated.

“No, I just don’t use her very much.” Gituda Tuuk had the two summons return to their runes before changing back to Hunter to take on the next Elk. “Speaking of pets, how’s your dog?”

“All better now. The medication helps a lot,” Feffie replies. “Why are you hunting on raid night? You’re definitely able to join, right?”

Gituda Tuuk changed to his gatherer class again and went for the next elk. “I’m waiting for Teenam to learn the mechanics of the {Frozen Sea} raid. Dee-dee also needs to work on putting together strategies in real time. She tends to rely too much on planning in advance.”

The fox was silent for a moment while following to taunt it and pull a nearby fire sprite so as to not accidentally kill Gituda’s target and mess up his log completion.

“Hoedi is one thing, but does Teenam ever learn mechanics?” Feffie asked eventually. He spit out a swearword as a boar spawned right next to her and immediately attacked. Only when the situation was under control again, the fox added, “I don’t think I’ve seen T know the mechanics of any raid ever.”

“By learning I mean experiencing the entire raid so that T knows how to chaos things instead of, you know, winging it,” Gituda Tuuk replied.

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: why do i need to pick up more cheese?! why is this a main quest?! why do i need to travel so far to get cheese?! *sob*

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: The quest lets you visit all of Luntalgi and its surroundings. You familiarise yourself with it and the safe and unsafe routes with and out of Luntalgi as well.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: If you pay attention, you’ll find easter eggs too, but you can check them out on the Wiki to find what they are later.

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: you’re telling me there a POINT to this?????

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Mhmm.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Just be careful at the outer edges of Luntalgi. All our healers are in the raid or out of commission.

“No, man. I think T always wings it. There’s no way there any thought going into that. I ran Roots with T last week, right? We nearly wiped ten times because T was healing the bosses.”

“…Maybe it was for the challenge?”

“We were doing it duo. Unscaled. Roots is full party.”

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Go back to your ******* raid, Teenam. Odyja already told you to pay attention.

Gituda Tuuk had to admit Feffie was right. Teenam Mortana was not someone who seemed to have any plan going in.

“T’s still our main main healer and I’ll need to run and beat the raid with my alts too, and T doesn’t mind. If you get to the raid, you can join one of them too, Feffie.”

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Oh, I already died. Smashed by a hammer. Waiting for the rest to wipe now.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Not my fault. Hoedi was giving directions to the sub-party.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: I was minding my own business and then suddenly I was dead by hammer.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: No one told me to dodge it.

“Who’s gonna be your main tank?”

“Haven’t decided yet.”

Gituda Tuuk fell quiet.

“Vice captain?” Feffie asked when the silence stretched. “Hey? Did you fall asleep? No more hunting?”

“No, I was reading the guild chat backlog. I noticed Teenam was chatting again.”

“Oh?”

“Turns out T KOed,”

“Teenam did? That raid must be really hard. Whoops!”

The elk charged at Feffie, and she jumped to the side. As she did. The boar also charged and nearly hit Gituda, but he moved just in time to just have the massive animal brush past him.

“I think T was just distracted,” Gituda Tuuk said as he equipped new arrows. “Dee-Dee was giving instructions to the party. Stood too close to a mob, I guess.”

“Hoedi would challenge you to PvP if she heard you call her Dee-Dee,” Feffie snorted. “As long as the support healer resurrects Teenam they should get further today than last time.”

Gituda Tuuk had to dodge both the elk and the boar.

“Old man, why are you bringing them to me? I am using bow and arrow. Go away! I’m trying to hunt, not die.”

“Fine, Dad,” Feffie replied and began to pulling the monsters away. And away. And further away. And out of range.

“…Now you’re just trolling me. Come back.”

Feffie laughed heartily. “You didn’t tell me how far away to go.”

“You done soon? I got work tomorrow,” Feffie asked a couple of hours later and Gituda Tuuk could hear the yawn from the other side. “How many are we at, bud?”

The wood elf consulted his Hunter’s Log between releasing an arrow and equipping new ones.

“Sixteen once I kill this one. I can do the last four on my own.”

“Four… so maybe half an hour more, once they respawn. I can do that. It shouldn’t be more than an hour, right?”

As the elk fell, Gituda Tuuk approached it and began to search its body to receive loot. He read the chat when he heard Feffie say, “Oh, hey, you leveled up!”

You have successfully hunted a Corrupted Elk.

You received 423 exp.

Congratulations! You leveled up Hunter to level 51.

You received 3 cursed bone fragments.

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: where is {Fireglade}?? i can’t find it on the map

You received 4 pieces of meat.

You received 1 toxic elk horn.

“Oh, I got a horn.”

“Rare drop! That’ll fetch millions on the market.”

“I’ll commission Yeria Quur to craft something out of it. They have rare recipes of things we seldom see at the market place. I’m sure they can think of something.”

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: You’re still on the cheese quest? @Chu Ghilon

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Go do something else for a while.

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: i finally got the cheese quest to {Fireglade} though. feffie said it would be “fun”. the curiosity is kiling me.

“Apropos nothing, how long ago was that invite you asked me about again?”

“The one to Chu? Lessee… Nine days ago. Why?”

“Just curious.”

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: oh! i found it!

“…”

“Are you reading chat again?” Feffie asked.

“Are you on party chat?”

“No, I toggled the entire chat log close,” Feffie said. “You know I can’t do voice and text chat at once. I get too distracted to process any of it. Anything fun going on?”

[Guild] Odyja Sorbanja: And we’re out of the raid. God, why the **** did I agree to this? WHY DID WE DO THIS FOR SO MANY HOURS.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Don’t shout, dumb4ss.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Did you clear it?

“No… Just post-raid banter. Why don’t you get something to drink? I want to see what they say.”

“Can I take my baby out for the evening potty walk?”

“Yeah, do that. Bet she’s been waiting for you to bring her on a walk. But don’t forget to get water for yourself.”

Gituda Tuuk changed back to beast master and began idling.

[Guild] Hoedi Kodokki: Not yet. SOME people didn’t read the guide in advance even though I linked it for EVERYONE on Discord.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Everyone in your party read it. What are you complaining about?

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: It was such a good time, baby.

[Guild] Hoedi Kodokki: It was NOT a good time.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: I’m sure it was frigid in the caves. No Wanderer enjoys getting frostbites and hypothermia.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Only the mad and the foolish would find a time in there pleasant.

[Guild] Odyja Sorbanja: Nice save. Caves, lmao. I’m dying over here. xD

Gituda paused. He hadn’t meant to do that. It just… happened. Sometimes it did. Mostly it didn’t.

Feffie had laughed at the speech he had offered for the invite of the newbie too. Something about it being too grand and cringe and in-world.

Some habits just died hard it would seem.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Whatever.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: We’re home, Vice Captain.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Welcome home.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: What are the wipe stats? Feni wanted to know, so I’ll rely it through voice.

[Guild] Hoedi Kodokki: Feffie? This late?

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: I was hunting elks. I got 4 left. She’ll log out after that.

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: HELP.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: But he’s afk right now. It was potty time.

[Guild] Odyja Sorbanja: What’s happening? @Chu Ghilon

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Cheese quest.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Feni said it would be FUN.

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: HELP WHY ARE THESE SO STRONG

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: SOMEONE HELP ME

[Guild] Hoedi Kodokki: Oh no. What’s wrong newbie? hehe

[Guild] Odyja Sorbanja: You need to be specific. What is strong? hehe

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: CRABS HELP

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: Stop it you two.

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: THE CRABS TT__TT

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: SAVE ME

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Should I go?

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: THEY FAST WHY ARE THE FAST

Gituda Tuuk was about to teleport to nearest town to help the poor newbie, but…

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: i died :’(

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: i’ve never died before. outside a dungeon, i mean.

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: i’m lile 10 exp from level 15 on rogue too :’(

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: STAY

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: WHERE YOU ARE

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Don’t revive into a town!!

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: DM coordinates. They can be found on the map. I’ll be right there to resurrect you.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: Ressurection will let you keep you levels.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: DON’T REVIVE.

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: ISTG if you revive @Chu Ghilon

[Guild] Teenam Mortana: I will put you straight back intl the grave if you don’t stay dead

[Guild] Chu Ghilon: I’M STILL DEAD YOU’RE SCARIER THAN THE CRABS

“…”

Gituda Tuuk sat silently and stared at the chat for several minutes.

“I’m back!”

“You are an awful human being,” Gituda replied Feffie’s cheery voice.

“Eh?? What??”

“Newbie reached the Fireglade.”

“I missed it? They died, right? What was their reaction? Is it far up the log? Let me see.”

“Newbie was a stone’s throw from level fifteen. Nearly lost two levels,” Gituda said in disapproval.

“It’s a rite of passage. Everyone dies to the Fireglade crabs at least once. If you can’t survive dying there a few times, are you really worth keeping?” Feffie said with a light chuckle.

“T went to save them.”

It was quiet for a beat before Feffie asked in disbelief, “Teenam did?”

“Teenam was screaming in chat to not revive.”

“Wow. Now I absolutely need to read this chat log.”

Gituda fell silent.

[Guild] Gituda Tuuk: No screaming chat.

He considered for a moment before typed /p Chu Ghilon into the chatbox.

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: How are you liking the guild?

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: Feni Kunas being a menace aside.

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: I’ve noticed you don’t play all that much. 2-3 hours/1-2 times a week?

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: Just wondering if youll keep it at that amount.

[Private] Chu Ghilon: i have abusy job.

[Private] Chu Ghilona busy*

[Private] Chu Ghilon: 1-3 hours/0-2 times a week maybe if i keep playing

[Private] Chu Ghilon: its a nice game and i like the community pf the guild

[Private] Chu Ghilon: is it a problem if i won’t play more? feffie said its a casual guild. she gave me a whole speech about it, i think.

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: It’s not a problem. I was just asking. Do you think you’ll play for now?

[Private] Chu Ghilon: for now yeah. it’s a good way to relax after work sometimes probably

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: Do you have Discord?

[Private] Chu Ghilon: yeah. wanna be friends or something???

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: The guild has a server. I’ll send you an invite.

[Private] Chu Ghilon: oh

[Private] Chu Ghilon: ok!!

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: The name of the guild is a bit dumb, but I hope you don’t mind staying for a while.

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: Welcome to Velkrinni, Wanderer.

[Private] Gituda Tuuk: And welcome home (to the guild), Chu.

With that, Gituda Tuuk went back to his sole purpose — completing his Hunter’s Log.
