Summary

BRB 4 Raid, also known as [Before], is a guild on the Ilmatar server on the Yggdrasil data centre in the game The Tales of Velkrinni, a niche mmorpg that somehow manages to get by with dedicated fans and a community that loves their stupid fantasy game launched over seventeen years ago.

This is a collection of stories and vignettes in chronological order following a member of the guild or deeply entwined with their guild culture in every chapter. They are technically all standalone, and we only follow them while they’re either online in game or otherwise engaging with the guild in the vicinity of the game of Velkrinni. It contains everything one can expect from a guild that spends too much time online in the forms of fantastical animals in a Nordic mythos inspired setting: drama, rivalry, friendship, love triangles, a retired guild leader who treats everyone else as kids, a chaotic healer with a stupid build, a player who still doesn’t know how to play after several years, a player who acts like the local underpaid craftsman, that one player everyone listens to and stands above the guild leader for seemingly no reason… And, of course, raids.
